Our Community
Like any family, we're part of our community. And from the Greggs Foundation to BBC
Children in Need, greener working practices to Breakfast Clubs, you'll find we take
our role in it seriously – with a smile.
Greggs Foundation
When it was established in 1987 by Ian Gregg, the Greggs Foundation's aim was to put
something back into our communities. We started small, making small grants in the
North East. Now though, we donate much more to great causes all over the country –
over £1.3 million last year.
The Foundation was actually first called the Greggs Trust. But we renamed it in 2009
with a renewed mission of making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged people in
the heart of Greggs' local communities. Mainly we do this through four programmes:
our Breakfast Clubs, Major Grants to charitable organisations in the North East of
England, a Hardship Fund that helps families in the North East and Regional Grants
around the UK of up to £2,000.
