"This is actually a very active job. You've got to be like Superman. You've got to
multitask. But you've got to be quick. Because there's a whole queue of customers
coming. So, you've got to get ready.
"You do lift quite a few things. And, obviously, there's health and safety – you've
got to lift up the proper way. But no, you don't just have to be mighty strong to do these
sorts of things.
"Every single component – not just making food, but serving customers and cleaning –
it's like a chain. If you don't do one thing right, everything else is, sort of, it's
not 100% satisfactory. And you've got to be very diligent, because, you know,
sometimes the situation may change and you've got to respond to that.
"To be a good Greggs employee, you've got to be very patient, understanding. It's
like a skill – you learn all the health and safety. And all the – you just don't learn
everything all through the training. You learn something about yourself, and the
people who work around you and the customers' responses to you. So it's kind of
like self-discovery."
