Shop Manager
Our customers love visiting Greggs. Not just because of the quality of the food
either – though of course that's the most important thing. It's the warm, happy,
professional people, the presentation, the way the place looks, the efficiency of
the service and much else besides. You'll manage all of it.
You'll set high standards and make sure your shop reaches them. You'll achieve
excellent sales and profitability, deliver food that's the finest quality it can be
and oversee the training and development of every member of the team.
As the head of your little bit of our family, you’ll find this is management at its
most practical – you'll need to roll your sleeves up, get involved in food preparation
and make sure the shop is clean, hygienic and welcoming. Of course, that’s on top of
all the admin jobs you’d expect a manager to have.
Naturally, it’s a job that calls for a track record as a supervisor or line manager
and a CV bursting with customer service experience. You'll need numeracy skills, basic
computer literacy and a flexible approach to working hours. On a personal level, we
look for problem-solver who can manage change, communicate with people from all walks
of life and focus, non-stop on customers.
If you've worked in food production or retail before, even better.
