This is a Full Time, Temporary position for 6 months working 35 hours a week Monday to Friday, based in Greggs House, Quorum Business Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

The Payroll Team pay all of Greggs 23,000 employees on SAP payroll software and this role is in a busy, office based team requiring an enthusiastic individual, able to learn new skills and with good customer service skills

Work Pattern

35 hours a week, shifts will be Monday and Tuesday 8am until 4pm and Wednesday - Friday 9am until 5pm

What you'll do

  • End to End Payroll Processing
  • Providing a high level of customer service.
  • Starters, Leavers, Maternity/Adoption/Paternity leave
  • Transfers, Salary Increases/Grade Changes
  • Tax code changes, Student Loans, Court Orders
  • Leave of Absences, Dependency Leave, Bereavement leave, Sickness
  • One-off Payments, Cycle to Work
  • Interim Payments
  • Third Party Payments
  • Take ownership for queries in various mailboxes
  • Payslip Enquires
  • HMRC Correspondence
  • Taking ownership of specific processes, maintaining documentation and leading training as required
  • Identifying and implementing process changes

About you

  • Knowledge and Experience of Payroll Processing
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Awareness of Statutory and Contractual Obligations
  • Knowledge of Pensions and Auto Enrolment
  • Awareness of Specific Deadlines
  • Understanding of Payroll Legislation
  • Understanding of Data Protection and Confidentiality
  • Understanding of National Minimum Wage and Living Wage
  • Knowledge of Tax and National Insurance
  • Comfortable communicating verbally with colleagues who have queries in their pay
  • High level of Accuracy and time awareness
  • Professional and Reliable
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter
  • Effective thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisation skills with strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills across all levels
